Misty is passionate about educating and inspiring young minds. Through focusing on a safe and welcoming learning environment and rich learning experiences, she is able to positively impact a child’s academic growth and success. Misty believes building meaningful relationships is a fundamental part of the learning process. Every child is on their own unique learning journey, and Misty has a way of meeting students where they are and making them feel confident in their academic abilities. A growth mindset approach, combined with engaging, individualized instruction, fosters a love of learning and encourages students to believe that they can do hard things.  

Misty earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from East Texas A&M University with a specialization in Reading. She is a Texas certified educator with over twenty years of experience. Misty has taught 5th grade Reading and Writing in Rockwall ISD for the past ten years, and holds an Exemplary designation from The Texas Education Agency. 

Aside from teaching, Misty’s passion is spending time with her family. As a parent of three teenagers, she’s realizing that every second counts when time flies! She is a proud Texas A&M University mom - gig ‘em!; her two other children attend high school and middle school in Rockwall ISD. Misty and her husband feel incredibly blessed to have raised their children in the community of Rockwall since 2008.
