After earning her Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and Secondary Education certifications from University of North Texas, Teresa began her journey as an educator in 1988. She taught High School Science – which included IPC (Integrated Physics & Chemistry), Chemistry, Pre-AP Chemistry, and Physics for 22 years in Mesquite ISD. She taught at West Mesquite High School, Mesquite Academy and Mesquite High School.

In those 22 years, Teresa has had a great deal of experience working with and implementing Special Ed IEPs and 504 accommodations. One thing she’s learned from her students is not everyone thinks or learns the same way. It is extremely important to develop different ways of presenting the lesson(s). It is up to the educator to make adjustments for the variety of different learning styles of the students. Every student has the potential to be successful.
